Blisters forming on my feet
Running away from another beating
This feeling I've had isn't fleeting

People keep asking me why I keep going back
Up until now I thought I loved him
But looking back now I see
That all he wanted to do was attack

It was just verbal abuse at first
But things went from bad to worse
It's like living under a ***** curse

Oh my god!
He's coming to get me now
Running faster than the speed of light
I've caught his eye
Now he's got me in his sights

Into the chase now
He grabs me by my hair
And slams his fist into my face
As the blood pours out
People stand and stare
It's like they don't even care

Scrambling to get up on my feet
When he beats me down again
Will this painful life come to a bloody end?

That's it I've had enough
If I want to survive I'm going
To have to get tough

I send all my strength into my arm
And swing it around to cause him harm
My hit seemed to give him a surprise
And now I can finally rise

Running again from his angry cries
I know what I have to do before
I die

In the police station now
I'm put to the test
Will I lie again?
Or beg of his arrest

Outside again now
I've done the right thing
I feel like I could dance and sing
Now that I'm free
I can finally see
How horrible life can be
With him [comments] => 2 [counter] => 181 [topic] => 43 [informant] => Redhotchilichic [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => oops )

Good poem, You did the right thing. They are like kids who torture animals, they have a wire loose in their heads and they just get a thrill from it. Glad to see you decided to fight back, good for you, thanks for sharing
