Your soul's in the depths of despair.
You feel so alone, no one cares, you say,
You've reached the limit of what you can bear.
Come, follow me through the valley of tears,
'Tis a cupful of sadness, indeed.
Look beyond your hour; set aside your fears.
We are spectators only in this garden;
A garden of children in need.
Observe little Emily; swinging so high,
She could not possibly know that;
She's in training to fly;
Away from her Dad who loves her so much,
To the garden beyond;
And with just one touch,
She'll be able to walk, she'll be able to see;
The beautiful Eden, prepared by me.
He would have carried her always;
Through tears he'll not be able to see;
Into my tomorrow, just how perfect she will be.
Perhaps you will choose to go out of your way,
I'll carry your burdens just for today.
He'll need someone; I've chosen you,
to walk by his side and carry him through.
Walk unencumbered hereafter, my child,
Give no thought for tomorrow.
Learn to consider your brother's mile,
Pray for all human kind in sorrow.
Each child in this garden,
Has a similar story,
Happiness and sadness will be explained in glory.
Very soon these babes will make heaven sing,
They're angels-in-waiting;
Waiting for wings.

Oh, Oreo, I just came on line to check to see if my new poem had been posted. It had, and there was 1 comment. I knew before I came to my poetry page that the first comment would come from you. You are such a faithful encourager. I really mean that. You encourage me to dig deeper inside myself and pour out my heart. Bless you. Love to you, Dot
