The simplicity of the rhyme scheme and the word choice intensifies the stubborn tone of this piece, I think. I, however, tend to be more inclined to read and more impressed by poems with stronger word choice and perhaps a stronger rhyme scheme. But like I said, it seems to fit the tone kind of, so I'm deeming it a good write.
