and the stars fall to the ground
would you think of me as everything fades
when there's no one else around

when the sun is burning out
and the skies no longer clear
will you be longing for my touch
as the world around you disappears

when the waves stop pounding shores
and there's nothing there to see
will I be in your thoughts
will you be there thinking of me...

when the leaves fall from their branches
and the trees all fade and die
will you remember how the sun shined
when it glimmered in my eyes

and when there nothing left to see
when everything is finally passed
will my love for you be remembered
will it be the one thing that lasts...

for as the world around me crumbles
and I know there's nothing more to do
the only thing that I will miss
will be sharing this world with you... [comments] => 11 [counter] => 347 [topic] => 2 [informant] => holderofthestone [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 40 [ratings] => 8 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => LovePoetry )

This is a great poem and reminds me of a song

"You asked how much I love you
Must I explain
I love you oh my darling
like roses need rain
You ask how long i'll love you
I'll tell you true
Until the twelf of never
Is how long I'll love you"

Songg Excerpt "Until the twelf of never" by Johnny Mathis

I love this poem. My poems are usually written in anger so I really admire work that shows longing and real love. Good Job!

I enjoyed this read, I thought it to be well written and flowed very nicely...I believe most people to have these thoughts at some point in their life, especially with those that they love more than themselves. Very good job, keep writing.

I like the way the words and thoughts flow out in near seamless fashion as they are read. Some poetry is kinda tough to read especially out loud but the tempoand rhythm of this piece seems relaxed and easy. Beautiful longing.
