Feel your troubles drain
let the waves sedate

Enjoy your break
you deserve it
Release your hearts ache...
I'll miss you more than I'd admit!

A smile on my face
picturing your good time
Take in the relaxed pace
as your spirits climb

Observe nature at it's best
kick up your heels in the sand
Happy times, forget the rest
Have a good time---it's a demand!!

Usually don't read poems about doctors. I think it is nice that you could come up with one with a doctor's demand at the end... IT'S A DEMAND... like it alot..sandy

Scorpy, that is nice. Does he bring you back a souvenier. I always had to bring back little gifts for everyone. It was fun picking something up special for each one. They always told me "well, it is the least you can do after we slave away for you, lololol. I agreed, it was just easier : ).

It's cute. It's kind of one of those spur-of-the-moment poems where something happens and you just need to write it down and, being a poet, it comes out in poem form.
I guess, it doesn't have a real professional feel to it like a reflective, introspective poem might.

Love and peace

Well I just became a writer, am an avid reader for poetry. Now I must say, I can feel what you feel as your wrote this poem, because when its time for my doctor to go on vacation, I miss him and his wife a lot. I kid him when he says he is about to take a vacation, that I helped pay his way, lol. And, you are correct in saying, doctors need a break from their patients, work, and just to go and relax. When my doctor gets back, I get to hear all about the fun he and his wife had, and they do send their patient patience cards when they go on vacation, a real family type affair for all, we are his kids too.
My pleasure to read your poem Scorp, for it is very much a reality write, and nice title to go with, which makes it seem far away for both. My doctor gives me, his other patience a good feeling, before he takes off, so we won't worry, we know he will come home to us to give us more meds, and shots, ouch:>
