Calling my name
Beckoning me back
To return, be the same

My footsteps lead me
To where the light lies
Yet the beckoning gets louder
The light begins to die

Closer I crawl
To the dark hole
Of who I used to be
Regaining my dark soul

Change is never permanent
It can never be forever
I for one worked hard
To finally change for the better

Yet I was distracted
By the temptation of old ways
The light I had met
Soon became a haze

I want to take a knife
Stab the way of sin
End my old sinful routine
A new life to begin

Change is never
Set in stone
I’ll try to find the light
Live in it alone

Yet memories will still haunt me
Darkness will still exist
I’ll turn my back on the shadows
Finally see the light I have missed

I loved this poem, it spoke right to my soul, for it is spoken of truth, no lies, there is complete honesty in this poem. The light is there, forgiveness, and yet, the old sinful self is there always trying to call you back. WONDERFUL WORK.

Words that touch my heart....i can relate to all your words.

It is definetely a struggle to remain in the light and stay the person we want to be, and not look back at the wrong we've done. But if we keep fighting, the light always banishes the dark.

Meaningful, touching and powerful piece.
I thought this was a masterpiece.

Hope to you.
Keep embracing the light dear one.
