As we go to bed each night
The stars high in the sky
Shine hope on our troubled lives
Yet none of this matters
Can you hear what I say
Did the words fade away
When I asked you to stay

The words that stream from my mouth
Are jumbled with incessant thoughts
I am sick and tired of ranting nothings
Are you?
The days go slowly by
But the pain it won't subside
It's then I start to cry
Yet none of this matters
My tears fall like the rain
My poetry my sole escape
Depression is my fate
Yet none of this matters

The past I can recall
Was not the source of my fall
You never did anything wrong

The fears I've swept away
Will come back another day
But you will slowly fade

A person or a tool?
