Grief

He shook her because the devil was inside of her
His young years of guidance from a God on a stick
told him the evil on her mind
Forgetting the tears of anguish the sighs of despair
The child was not breathing correctly
So he shook her harder laughing at the pain that he saw
through her dark eyes
Did they forget about the child in the corner crying?
The child hoped so
Hoped pain was the devil's whisper
Hoped life was an odd dream
Hoped her mother would be okay the next morning
