It bleeds and breeds in darkness – a rather wicked procreation
Its web of broken shadows form a twisted art display
A curse within a gift begins a debt you can’t repay

Like a haunting melody from a song you can’t recall
Long forgotten, once remembered as your end begins your fall
Silent sentries leer at nothing, but they frighten all the same
Your fears are called unfounded but the causes still remain

So protect yourself from what so many tell you isn’t real
Never falter in conviction what you know is what you feel
At the end of all that’s mortal just remember what you’ve learned
If you cry for nothing else, weep for the crosses that you’ve burned

It lingers in the silence of forgotten conversation
