I pray
Lord, help me fix this mess
For all that it made was grief and stress
My heart breaks with each step I take
Oh, why did I have to make
A fool out of me?
When will I ever see?
Why did I have to speak?
For, now I must reap
What I made myself sow
The worst part of this is now I know
You already knew
So what was the point of telling you?
You knew what was in my heart
The only thing you got wrong was when it in me did start
It's been a year now
But I swear to you somehow
I don't think it will ever go away
At least not yet today
You can add this to my list of stupid things done and said
All because my brain fled
And I let my heart lead
Now all it does is bleed
It is useless now, so I throw it away

Today
I pray
Lord, help me fix this mess
For all that it made was grief and stress
My heart breaks with each step I take
Oh, why did I have to make
A fool out of me?
When will I ever see?
Why did I have to speak?
For, now I must reap
What I made myself sow
