Commenting on my Hiaku, she asked me to put it in a poem. This one's for you Sharon. Thanks again. [bodytext] => This poem has already been critiqued..by two of my favorite poets.....

A young poet says,
"Hey critters, you did it again!"

"I love this poem....it's beauty bright.
All things of Nature come in sight.
Your combination knows no ration
Includes trees and birds....a true sensation.

Wyoming has nature's own
the drakes above to tomtom phone.
I can't say more.....it's such a gem
It's poet's food....if I know them!"

'A TREE IS JUST A TREE!"

Whipping Wild Winds of November.
Blast their presence 'round the
corner of my small stucco shelter!
Lilac bushes in their path, are
shocked "Helter-Skelter!"
Three Tall Mountain Pines brace their height.
Long bellowing branches flop,
as if to take flight!

Accompanied by faltering snow flakes....
Flying high, Millions of Mallard Drakes
Or Proud Peacock's mating dance,
Strutting his feathers to advance!
Yes, Nature repeats it's design....
Tall, small, slim, fat, fine.

With imaginative eyes to our souls, surmise
Tiny Ants become big Rhinos with small eyes.
Observe trucks, tractors, backhoes, packed pickup.
Tireless, load after load, many many workers,
Much backup!

Cheeping Chickadees, artists on trapeze.
Lilac branches brace their fall.
Squirrels, tight rope walkers, balancing on
the telephone wire, swaying, precariously,
to the wind's call!

Luxurious satin silk sky.
With clouds, powder puffing by.
Others gauze, or fine cheese cloth.
Someone's white plastic sack stuck on my fence,
It's my ocean's froth....I'm now maneuvering at sea!

I can see whatever my imaginative eyes,
and mind allow me!
Out front, my 10 ft. wooden fence,
becomes my defense.
In my castle with the moat in between.
My Chess pieces may intervene......
And Suddenly, I'm the Queen!
Or a fortress packed with snow.......
I'm now a little ant, cozy below!

A creative mind must sometimes
be curbed, and controlled.
'Tis like grief, that cannot be consoled!
Try, though you may, blindfold it, condense it,
try hard not to dispense it!
It's impossible to forget it, or zit it!

It's simply magical, fantastical,
beauteousiastical,
Splendid, and Extraordinastical!
Without this immense gift,
given absolutely free!
We poets couldn't write poems,
'cause all we would ever see is,
"A Tree Is Just A Tree!"
