my head's on straight
no need for worries
I shut the rusted gate.

No matter how hard I try
I can never get you right
it never seems to work
I always run from sight.

If you could choose one way
for me to always be
would it be the same person
in the mirror looking back at me?

I try to show you every side
but you've only room for a few
needing you to understand me
takes more sides than two.

We tussle and we argue
play that cat and mouse
it was so much easier
when we both lived in a cold house.

I handed you the key
you shook your head and gave it back
I could never understand
what it was that I had lacked.

I played the silly games
said I really wasn't that kind
I just wanted you to look inside me
and find all that you could find.

I'm no longer hiding
but we no longer have a say
I suppose I could join the two of you
and be your kind of lay.

I love you and I hate you
and all the senses you awaken
I'll just wait here behind the unlocked door
patiently waiting here to be taken.
