and I know it’s okay
you don’t have to want me all the time
but I have been there before
I lived in fake empty homes

I cried in our bed today
I threw things when you weren’t home
and I know it’s not me
that hasn’t been me in a long time
but I have lived that before
I screamed in cold empty rooms
so I wait for you to
decide you can’t live with old echoes
of a girl always on fire
I wait for you, but I know
I’m not okay with this
I don’t want to need you not to go
but my heart beats in my stomach
as I wait for you to leave

my heart beats in my stomach
I wait for you to come home
and I know it’s okay
you don’t have to want me all the time
but I have been there before
