big heart
what are you always crying about?
“nothing’s wrong”
she says
feels alive but then it fizzles out

something restless stirs
looks at you, tells you you’re hers
you’d never know there’s room inside for the biggest black hole
‘cause she feels so much
but then she just stares outside
holding on so tight to the fear that she’ll never be whole

pretty girl
you’d say
but she hates herself inside and out
too thin, and
too fat
a million things she could do without

something angry screams
always caught between extremes
but if you look hard enough to see past the blinding glare
to gentle pieces
a heartrate that increases
sees that look in your eyes, tells her pain “I don’t **** care”

something quiet speaks
each time her lips touch your cheek
the war inside is never won, but the panic settles
‘cause she sees it all
coming down like glitter falls
so just for tonight, she’ll shine as bright as precious metal [comments] => 4 [counter] => 166 [topic] => 61 [informant] => MoonlitAngel [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => selfstruggles ) Your Poetry Dot Com - Something Restless
