[title] => The Cracks Start to Show
[time] => 2019-10-21 23:59:07
[hometext] =>
[bodytext] => we fade away
to a better place
at least that’s what they say
but all I know
is this vertigo
and the cracks start to show
summer is gone
the light has withdrawn
it gets hard to hold on
dark clouds roll in
crawl under my skin
but it’s not everything
the sun doesn’t blink out when storms start to rage
I still keep breathing from within winter’s cage
and your love is the light that keeps shining through
my head’s above water just because of you
so rain pours down
flooding this ghost town
but we won’t hit the ground
‘cause sunny days
pierce through stormy haze
and set the skies ablaze
storms’ afterglow
on darkness bestows
such luminous rainbows
through darkest nights
I still see your light
and it’s a wondrous sight
everything I keep carrying behind me
I can’t let it go and it gets so heavy
but I always know I can rest my head down
next to yours, and that’s more than I’ve ever found
it’s all I need to know
when the cracks start to show
