Ice Ballerina
you dance in the darkness
so far from the warmth of the light
Leaping and twirling
your thoughts are all swirling
youre lost in the chill of the night
There on the grass
in the guise of a mortal
on one toe see her pirouette
Gracefully gliding
a tear she is hiding
from hurt she will never forget
I watch her there
/'/neath the glow of the stars
as her breath turns to fog in the cold
Barely I see
but she wont notice me
or my love that would never grow old
Standing in shadows
I lower my eyes
when she looks, for a moment, my way
Fearful she /'/ ll find
in this so lonely mind
all the feelings my words couldnt convey
If I were braver
I/'/d dare to approach her
and maybe the embers would glow
Fanning the fire
with winds of desire
that over our bodies would blow
Melting her heart
into life giving waters
refreshing two souls parched and dry
Alas she is frozen
her destiny chosen
so I will just watch her and sigh
