Coming off as genuine, sincere
The whole thing just boggles me
As I lie writing here

Did you have to approach me
Telling me what I longed to hear
Thanks to my constant glances
For fear that your image would disappear

The fun ended when the hurt began
Charm clashed with mockery, jabs accompanied by caresses
All made my good intentions appear defeated
I/'/ll admit I played along much longer than needed

But now the warrior within me is released
No longer am I a slave to your words
Smooth operator, your line has been disconnected
And because I have returned to my First Love
The One you tried to make so little of, I can truly say that by you I am no longer affected
