the roar of waves in Winter,
rushing to the shore;
then drawing back to the sea
and breaking forth once more.
the burst of fire in Summer,
the crackling of flame;
the heralding of winds
as they carry forth its name.
the soft sighs of Autumn,
leaves crinkling in goodbye;
to yield their place on the branch
with an imperceptible sigh.
the birdsong of Spring,
the splitting of the seed;
the sounds and song of seasons,
no more than what I need.
