the words that were craved into her mind

she wasn/'/t needed

since her final hour began closing in
she wanted to fight it
but then remembered

"i wasn/'/t needed"

once the reaper came to her
she thought about pleading with him
but still couldn/'/t help but reminding herself

"i wasn/'/t needed"

as the coffin was placed
ever so gently in the ground
the former love sat along the sidelines with the mourning family
and thought to himself

" how could this have happened?"

then a whisper in the wind came to him
to answer his foolish question

" don/'/t you remember.....you said, she wasn/'/t needed."

once he heard that
he began to cry
as the spirit of the girl looks at him
from afar
he looks up and cries even harder
he mouthed the words
" i am sorry"

she held up a sign
with words
which were the same ones
that he spoke to her
the sames ones that will forever
haunt him
the last thing she said to the him
before the reaper escorted her to the other side
without looking back

"you didn/'/t need me"
