Hidden by a dark disguise
Abused by stupid fools
Used simply as a tool
Days played out in the dark
Not a bit of light, nothing so stark
Stringing the beads
Was her chore, her only deed
Done solely out of need
Her mother was simply a selfish whore
Ole Pa you could somewhat adore
Trips to the park
By herself alone in the dark
She cried out to be loved
In her loneliness was a patch of blue
When she met someone new
Freedom was at her door
Leading her to a new world to explore
Being blind stopped her no more
Just a glimmer of light, a ray of hope
Someone to care, be aware
Teach you how to cope
Darkness and despair
Only love could repair

Opal shaded eyes
Hidden by a dark disguise
Abused by stupid fools
Used simply as a tool
Days played out in the dark
Not a bit of light, nothing so stark
Stringing the beads
Was her chore, her only deed
Done solely out of need
Her mother was simply a selfish whore

Just a glimmer of light, a ray of hope
Someone to care, be aware
