I like to be alone!
But without an invitation;
You’ve shown up at my home.

Its lovely dear to meet you;
How long must you stay?
I’m still in my pajamas;
You know, its Saturday…

I see you brought your children;
To give your visit sway;
I bet it cures the slamming doors;
And pleas to “Go Away!”

I’m freezing in this bathrobe;
I don’t want to be saved;
If you could leave your business card;
I’ll take it to the grave.

Yes, I believe He loves us;
It says so on your car.
Nice you needn’t take the bus;
Too bad youve walked so far.

For your sake I will overlook;
Your promise that He’ll cure;
Everything that vexes us;
(You’re on that list for sure)

You speak of church with urgency;
Like God and Love won’t keep;
I know that I’m not perfect--
But I am no ones sheep.

You need a course in salesmanship;
Your kids need time to play;
I need to get my clothes on;
And enjoy my Saturday.
