My Dad, Never knew him,
He was a fly-by-nighter.
My Mum, she left us when we were still kids.
|Brothers and sister, They went their own way.

I stayed,
I stayed where Mum left us.
It was a hard battle but I did survive.
I hid in tree/'/s, away from the one/'/s who would kill me.

I hunted for food and that is one thing Mum did do,
She left us where there was plenty of food.
I ate as much as I could,
so I could grow big and strong.

As time wore on,
I felt an innate urge to build a home,
I started and when I finished,
It was perfect.

A snug, small place it was.
All to myself.
I withdrew into my home,
as days past, My home was battered by rain, wind and storms.

One day I knew I must leave my house,
I opened my house and outside I went.
I was stunned and amazed,
The world was shining, Glistening like so many Jewels.

I looked up and saw, at last, my Brothers and Sisters.
They had changed and all flew over me,
as I sat there Drying myself.
They all had wings of the most beautiful colours.

I turned to the water gathering beside me
And Looked at my reflection,
I noticed I was different too.
I also had these Gem laden wings of many colours.

I took the plunge,
I leapt from where I was,
into the wild blue yonder.
and from that point,
My life as a caterpillar ended,
My life as a butterfly began,
and I loved every second I was on this Earth!!!!
