In sickness and in health, in poverty and in wealth,
This I swear to you:

When there comes that moment, when
Your feet and hands, and toes begin
To prance, and jump, and sway, I’m in—
You’ll never dance alone again.

When your voice breaks into song,
When we’re at home, or out among,
Say, Vineyards on the Scuppernong,
(Although I’ll get the lyrics wrong,)
I will surely sing along.

From sandwiches to sunset views,
Or flights of fancy, sushi booze,
Or Boss fights (which we always lose),
I will save the last, for you.

When dreary visions disenchant,
When strength is not what fortunes grant,
Or grocery bags make shoulders slant,
I will carry, what you can’t.

And if your mind begins to spin
As madness without seep within,
When what you need’s a goofy grin,
I’ll smear ice cream on my chin.

And when you pack sunscreen for sun,
Or laughs, for best laid plans undone,
Or aid for tasty, cheesy fun,
(Or if you simply need a pun,)
I, will pack an extra one.

Should worries cloud in blackened storm,
As chilling thoughts begin to swarm,
At night, in bed, if nightmares form,
I will keep the covers warm.

And if we park a bit too far,
And if our eyes can’t find the car,
From France to Rome, or even Mars,
I’ll walk with you, across the stars.

And, finally, when we’re far apart,
(And here’s the clichéd, sappy part,)
Through mile and hour, end to start,
I will keep you, in my heart.
