The clock looked at the sundial;
marveled at such simplicity-
no moving parts, no effort expended,
the sun the heavy lifter.

Tick tock, tick tock,
never ceasing, round and round,
gears and wheels ever moving,
ceasing action, (for the clock), time itself would stop.

The sundial, bemused,
glanced upon its ticking friend, remarking;
"Such work! For all your machinations,
I/'/ll be here long after your frenetic end."
