I am trying so hard to not wear my heart on my sleeve
I dreamed a sweet dream of you last night
you told me no never give up and fight the good fight
I miss you so much, I miss you Dad
I now do not wonder what if
but remember the good times we had.
Sometimes in this world things can seem so bleak
we need a loving God more than ever I really do think.
With people who can't separate God and church from state
I really feel we must learn to love and reach out not to hate.
So God help guide us, hold us close so not to fall
Help us to love one another differences and all.
Tonight as I close my eyes and rest
I know that each day I can just do my best. I cried today I couldn't believe
