The sting of the slice
Nothing beats that sweet relief.

The dividing of the skin
Is where the pain ends
Only then do I begin to feel alive again

My wrist looks like a scratching post
For the cat next door
But just seems like a beautiful bleeding rose

The cold metal blade in my hand
I drag my only friend across my skin
It's amazing how alive I feel as I open up my veins

The warmth of flaming red blood drips down my hand
Such a beautiful sight
My veins crying instead of me [comments] => 1 [counter] => 202 [topic] => 72 [informant] => Angelgirl365 [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => self-harmpoetry ) Your Poetry Dot Com - Sweet Relief

The bite of the blade
The sting of the slice
Nothing beats that sweet relief.

The dividing of the skin
Is where the pain ends
Only then do I begin to feel alive again

My wrist looks like a scratching post
For the cat next door
But just seems like a beautiful bleeding rose

The cold metal blade in my hand
I drag my only friend across my skin
It's amazing how alive I feel as I open up my veins

The warmth of flaming red blood drips down my hand
Such a beautiful sight
My veins crying instead of me
