The one that ended so pleasantly
A brother’s invitation at first doubtful
Led to memories wonderful and eternal

I sit here in nostalgic reflection
Acknowledging the urgency for your change in direction
Release is what I grant grateful of your loyalty
To the One who directs your paths as well as mine
May I too hearken unto His voice so divine

Love, compassion, kindness, and discipleship
All has this apprentice worked on during three splendid years
She will continue, remembering the vessel God chose specially
To start the process that drew her closer to Him
I shall see you again whether here or above
Remembering how you cared for all to know God’s love

I remember that summer day
The one that ended so pleasantly
A brother’s invitation at first doubtful
Led to memories wonderful and eternal

I sit here in nostalgic reflection
Acknowledging the urgency for your change in direction
Release is what I grant grateful of your loyalty
To the One who directs your paths as well as mine
