It's been a very long time.
Since I've permitted these feet of mine.
To carry me into Your house of worship.
And partake of the fellowship.
I must say the atmosphere was serene.
The experience was supreme.
All the wonderful things I saw.
People singing praying falling to the floor.
It was quite out of this world.
Just to be there and feed off Your word.
So often I wonder of the path.
Just so that later I need to ask.
Why did I do it again?
So much self inflicted pain.
I've heard all the teaching's.
Attended countless preachings.
Why do I always fall at the wayside.
Down, down the embankment I slide.
Just to have to claw my way back up.
From way down there man that sucks.
I always start the race strong.
Running, laughing, singing a song.
You have always been at my side.
Then that nasty thing comes PRIDE.
I can't recall ever crying out your name.
Just to hear you say I'm to blame.
You never look upon me with a frown.
You've never let me down.
I have committed so many sins.
Yet You take them and toss them in a bin.
I have put myself in danger.
Treated You like a stranger.
However every time you come to my rescue.
You sit me down on Your knee and hand me a tissue.
Come my child let me dry your tears.
See it's over nothing to fear.
