Midnight gazes at the earth
Illuminates a mist
A wisp of smoke
Yet I see a ghost
My mind telling me
You’re here
Or maybe it’s my heart
That whispers your name
To my soul
My soul reaches out
And I raise my eyes to see
You disappear
My heart beats a hollow beat
Not blood
But numb feeling
Races through my veins
Cascades
Breaks this masquerade
And shatters at my feet
As my heartbeats shatter my ears
That listen for your name
A sound I’ll never hear
You disappear
My heart beats an empty beat
And blood
With no feeling
Seeps through my veins
Another small part of me
Slips down my cheek
Cascades
Broken masquerade
It shatters at my feet
I feel the shards
Caress
And rip my flesh
But I reject
This dark embrace
I miss your touch
But as cold mist
Whispers your lips to mine
A gentle breeze
A hurricane to me
Pushes you away
And I feel you
As slowly
You disappear
My heart breathes a gentle beat
Slow blood
Too much feeling
Flows through my veins
A heartbeat parts with me
Slips down my cheek
Cascades
No masquerade
It shatters at my feet
But midnight breeze
Brings scent of roses
The tempest before the rain
The silent storm
The tension torn sky
Brings me the scent of you
So close
But thunder breaks the spell
And raindrops fall
You disappear
My heart beats uneven beats
My blood
All I’m feeling
Coursing through my veins
Every last part of me
Slips down my cheek
Cascades
Ends all masquerade
Soul shatters at my feet
It blends with the raindrops
Almost forgotten
In this crushing reality of grief
I lift my eyes
Among the shower of stars
A gift of the moon
That hides my pain
I blend in the rain
And plead for you
And midnight’s tears
Fall on my lips
And I taste your lips
Your sweetness
So complete
But suddenly you’re ripped away
Your lips torn from mine
And lightning lights the empty space
I’m left with
Emptiness
That confirms
You disappear
And as I see
My fading love
And as I hear
Your whispered name
And as I feel
Your touch dissolve
And as I smell
Your scent die out
And as your taste
Just disappears
I seek
I find
I sojourn far
Drenched I dance in the embrace
Of rain, of pictures in my head
Of feelings torn
And shattered heart
In the embrace
Of soul so dark
And broken spirit, broken pace
Heartbeats echo broken phrase
“I‘m broken without you”
