Friends texting me, saying "Pick up, dude"
But I'll fight
Because you're the only star in the sky I see tonight.

The moon looks at me in hidden malice
A smile bright on its face
The toothless grin the only thing lighting the sky
But you push it away and make a smile.

The moon goes round and round
To some new person
Every day
But you never go.

One day I ask
"Why?"
You smile at me
And say.

You've done it right
Time to let me alone fight
Your sight brightens
When you're around me.

Because your light never gets old
Your monochrome chord never missing a beat
Never too late to lean in close to me
Saying, "The moon isn't the only light tonight". I look at the stars at night
Friends texting me, saying "Pick up, dude"
But I'll fight
Because you're the only star in the sky I see tonight.

The moon looks at me in hidden malice
A smile bright on its face
The toothless grin the only thing lighting the sky
But you push it away and make a smile.

The moon goes round and round
To some new person
Every day
But you never go.

One day I ask
"Why?"
You smile at me
And say.

You've done it right
Time to let me alone fight
Your sight brightens
When you're around me.

Because your light never gets old
Your monochrome chord never missing a beat
Never too late to lean in close to me
Saying, "The moon isn't the only light tonight".
