[title] => Brothers Farewell
[time] => 2014-02-05 21:39:05
[hometext] => My brother recently past away and also around the same time my english teacher wanted us to write a poem about a time that we were lost or that we had lost something dear to us. From that idea this was born , he said i should submit it..here i go...
[bodytext] => Joey is gone,
His soul laid to sleep
Down he goes
Watching the coffin we weep.
My brother was strong, Loyal and sweet
But all was taken from me
With one foul sweep.
He fired his bullet
But then two more came.
One to the eye, the other abreast.
My Brother is gone now,
My only true friend.
Alone I feel,
As they hand my mother the flag.
The striped Red, White and blue,
In which Joey carried in his bag.
The flag is torn, worn old and tattered,
But holds much dignity in which I fathomed.
My heart was torn,
And so was my family’s.
But none more than mine,
For we did not keep our promise.
A promise made between two siblings
Promising to come home safe
Bringing a medal of Silver
To see his smiling face
How lost I feel,
Cold and alone
For my first friend is gone now
Never to return
How I miss my Brother
With passion of flame
Knowing that his Justice was not carried out my way
I shall carry his flag, upon my shoulders
Never letting his memory pass my borders
I love my brother, but loath him as well.
For leaving me alone
In this life I now call hell.
