Representing pure beauty
Flying above the clouds
Trying to escape her insecurities

Unknown to her image
The beauty it contains
For she was once caged
Her heart barely remains.

Her wings were clipped
And lost her flight
Suffering from the evil of a man
Tears followed, unable to fight.

Eventually the prison grew weak
And freedom was her only desire.
Escaping at a cost.
She tries to fly higher

So high, she is unable to be captured
fearing love and what it had brought
Fearing the cage and the depression with it
Fearing the heartbreak she fought

In the skies she flew again.
And met me within the sky
For I am an eagle with equal fears
I once lost flight and almost died.

Captured and abused
Lied to and taken advantage of
My wings were clipped
And I dreamed of the sky above

My feathers grew again.
And I began to take flight
Fearing the evil of the ground.
Fearing love and it's poisonous bite

I have flown the skies for a while
And have seen great things.
I have learned to not fear love.
And above all I protect my wings

Yet we still fly.
And I see freedom within her smile
Reminding me of the battle I fought.
watching her for miles

I will protect this phoenix
Keep her flying with me.
For flying solo grows old.
This she will one day see.

Until then she will heal.
And no longer fear the cage
because true love flies high.
Not within a prison of rage

Take flight beautiful phoenix
And mend your broken heart.
For the sky is filled with freedom
And this eagle will never part
