About the storm at home,
Now read the poem,
How i kept the fire going,
Fire needs protection,
From the hails destruction,
Stoke the fire high,
Cover the fire with iron,
Hail come'ing down hard,
Water rise'ing fast,
My fire won't last,
Carry a sheet of iron,
Above my noggin,
Running through the hail,
It's deafen'ing on the iron,
Iron doing nothing,
Welts im admire'ing,
From my legs coping a hiding,
I'll keep the fire going,
My stomache won't be moaning,
I'll cook hot meal under the iron,
Colin Bradley.
