School scares do not restrain me,
If only a little,
For it is my vacation and I have the right to do whatever I want with it.

I'm scared.

(Of not getting my homework done.)

But more seriously–

(Of what it is I've become.)

But besides that!

(Seriously.)

I've always dreaded my vacations,
In the end.

You would think I would welcome them,
Expect them with earnest
And count the days until I would get to them.

(Which I do, as a matter of fact.)

But that's besides the point!

The point is,
There's nothing to do during my weekend
And holiday vacations!

I expect shopping and movies and gifts,
And beforehand,
(When everything was a little brighter and I still had a true friend)
I had infinite sleepovers to jump and plan about,
But no,
That's not what I get.

Instead I do nothing but lie in bed,
For there's nowhere to go
And no one to expect,
No friends to shop with
Or laugh to an extent.

Instead I stay up late,
Hoping there's more to come in the darkest nights,
And wake up in the afternoons,
Straining for avoiding dreams to make things interesting,
And knowing that when I open my eyes,
It'll just be a repeat and nothing but another day's bore.

It's pitiful
And you wonder and think,
"Get a life!"

Well I don't.
I don't have one.

It all went away when I was torn in thirds,
And there's no interest anymore
In a hiding dying world,
And even better–

Vacations were always spent in tears and sleep and heartache,
With just a hint of hate and apathy and night,
With an adjoining side of fights and fears and insanity.

(And cats too.)

So yeah.
School's my life.
