having lost limbs and baring so much pain
Having gone to a war
where, many will say nothing did we gain

Some went to fight
as a duty to our beliefs
Only this war had nothing to do
with freedom thieves

Many people feel
there was no real cause for this war
From the eyes of these soldiers
hell still knocked on their door

Never tell a soldier or a vet
there was no cause for what they have done
The decision is theirs
not ours to shun

Other soldiers
went because the choice was already made
For many that come home
those memories of war will eventually fade.

As people are different
the effect of war will remain forever in some
Our duty at home
is to welcome with open arms when they come

Lives forever changed
for many soldiers that showed valor for our land
We really need to help them
it is by far America’s greatest demand

I say God Bless all of you
that served or went to fight
Please don’t lose faith in America
the people of America are trying to make things right
