a man of courage, that did not easily come
Having made sacrifices
that is not so easy for some

My feet have been bloody
from the distance I have had to walk
Many stories to tell
having no shame of the stories of which I talk

Left home at a very young age
was not my own choice
Decisions made by my father
opinions through his voice

Serving my country
under the Red, White, and Blue
Making sacrificial choices
it is what I chose to do

It is now many years later
finding myself living in a foreign land
I still love my native country
as a proud American I still stand

To my fellow veterans
men and women in combat to this day
Your sacrificial service to our country
is a high price to pay

Occasionally looking back
seeing imprints from things I have done
Life sure has been a challenge
but freedom I have won

No matter where we are in life
we are as free as we want to be
Make sacrifices and challenges
and over time you will truly see.

God bless America
and every other country too
God bless the right of freedom
freedom for me and you.
