As iron sharpens iron
One man can gird another.
A rising tide lifts up all boats,
Whether small or mighty rudder.

When Moses lifted up his rod
To bloody that Egyptian River,
He sharpened up his nation’s men
Like the arrows in David's quiver.

If we go along life's many paths
And forget to bring our brothers,
We will fall into deep pot holes,
Unassisted by another.

An enemy passed me by one day
As I lay beside a ditch.
I almost had bitter words to say,
When his comrade reached to lift.

What makes one man roll up his sleeve
As another man turns away?
Why do some men espouse virtue,
And others seek only pay?

As iron sharpens iron,
All men can strengthen spines.
I want to bolster yours my friend,
And will you straighten mine?

“Come reason with me” some do say
“Until in purpose we are one.”
We’ll hone the blades that pierce men’s hearts
Until Eternity’s work is done!
