When you left, upon me a realisation came
Not that all was quiet or I was alone, not that lame
I felt I held a vision to guide me, my destiny
A perplexing confusion of infinity
Surrounded by warmth I have not before known
Surmising my path from how I have grown
I looked for a lead, for the angle of the night
Unable to explain why I just knew it to be right
An image appeared in my path again and again
I have known this image before I became a man
Nothing seemed to have changed but all was new
As I reflect I recall the joy I have when I am with you
Knowing you and I as friends perhaps as best ones sometime
At the same instant the realisation replaced by a rhyme
That can only be sung together throughout time
So I hope somehow as I know this can be true
A gift will fall to help make us best friends me and you
