I sheltered you within my wings and whispered loving breath
I sang to you of faith and hope, of kindness heavensent
You took all that was given, the need to give more grew
for all there was within me was now entwined with you...
you called me angel.

The shadowed heart will not allow love's light to penetrate,
nor faint of heart admit, that vulnerability comes with love.
But gamble is what all must do to find the joy within
so guard your heart but turn the key when whispers come again.....
and call you an angel.

With gentle arms I reached for you as though there was no fear,
no need to guard the tender heart that longed for many years.
You came to me from shadows and whispered to my heart
