The meaning of all Life’s questions
The waning of the moon
Where the sun rose and set
What my heart truly desired

Now I know:
I have no answers
The moon no longer speaks to me
I cannot sense the sun’s direction
My heart wonders

I can spend hours pondering life
Meanings and variables in a forgotten tongue
My achievements hollow reminders of wasted years
Trying to be someone, a somebody to everybody

Last ditch efforts are fading fast
Fortune squandered many months past
Hope is leaking and sinking to the never-ending bottom
Further and further the darkness calls

You can finally make them believe,
You are who they always wanted you to be
Just a face in the crowd, a number on the wall
Not a fallen star, but a star that never shined at all
