[title] => The One?

[hometext] => A poem about choices, finding ultimate love and having the courage to accept it
[bodytext] => The one
To belong absolutely
And find our one true love
We search for that person
To become a true part of
Maybe only once in our lifetime
We’ll find our one true mate
But do we act on those urges
Or is it all too late
Along life’s wondrous path
There are many decisions and choices
We listen to our hearts
Our heads and our voices
But what if on that path
When our lives seem truly set
We stumble upon the person
We were destined to have met
To hurt the ones we love
Such a selfish choice to make
But to find our true belonging
Do we have to create heartache?
Some may find it very easy
To embrace that self-indulgence
To others, like ourselves, the choices
Will ravage our conscience
Can we ever go back
Once we have tasted such affection
The passion, the romance
The love, the whole connection
Maybe, just maybe
Life can exist as it did before
Maybe, just maybe
We can walk away once more
Will we come to regret the decision
To live without our one true love
Can we hide all of our emotions
Will what’s left ever be enough
Are we strong enough to leave
Are we strong enough to stay
The consequences are colossal
A decision too big to make today
So we carry on our lives
Wondering where all of this will end
And wishing on a star
............... to be much more than just a friend
