Today I find myself standing at the brink
Before I move I must stop and think
It is not something I have well as of late
To take that moment and just wait
Across the gap I see where I want to be
For years it has burned in the very depths of me
Obstacles have always stood in the way
Promises and obligations left for another day
Before I take that step I look back to find
All of those who have tried to steer my mind
Giving due time to reflect on each
But completely missing the lessons they are to teach
Turning back I take my next step and fall
I never gave it any thought at all
Rushing to the very pits of Hell
It is a place that will do me well
I know exactly why I am here
Not making things right is now my fear
God let me have a moment with your ear
All I have ever asked for them is smiles not a tear
As I have not questioned your words in the past
I thought your gift would forever last
But with it I had to force my own hand
And I found that on my own I could not stand
Tonight God, I beg for your unconditional release
Let this existence end and the tortured live in peace
Before you have brought me to the front of Heaven’s door
To make it through is not an option any more
While the world is dark and quietly asleep
Into the depths of Hell let my soul creep
As the morning mist fades and the sun warms the Earth
Let those left behind start fresh again like a rebirth
