And you opened me like a child's book
You would see me dreaming
Might the words on the page tell you a story
Then you could take those black, bold letters
And build yourself a message
Roll it up and stash it in a bottle
And send it off to sea
It would find it's way to me
Way up in dark blue sky
Dusk would stop to stare
At how the stars would beg the moon

If I were an airplane
Flying high above the city lights
And you opened me like a child's book
You would see me dreaming
Might the words on the page tell you a story
Then you could take those black, bold letters
And build yourself a message
Roll it up and stash it in a bottle
And send it off to sea
It would find it's way to me
Way up in dark blue sky
Dusk would stop to stare
At how the stars would beg the moon
To let me fly down to you
