Even though I've never met you I dream of you alot
Staring at the ceiling laying on my cot
My new dad drinks and screams and tells me I'm not his
Somtimes I wish so hard that I was another kid

We read your letters when they come and mother says you care
Why cant you get your act together and rescue us from here
Other families whisper when we go out to the store
Why cant those people be around when mothers on the floor

Rarely do I see my mother smile out of joy
She smiles just to comfort me her scared and crying boy
Blood and bruises screams of rage for many years to come
You were released five years ago we dont know where you've gone

We moved away from that nightmare with not a hand from you
If I ever see your face I don't know what I'll do
I have a child of my own and I dont know how you live
Since I watched her take a breath all I can do is give

So Much For Dad
