and so, with the new dates and the new year

ill forget all of last years tears

with the new spring and bright flowers

ill forget all of those sad lonely hours

and as the animals come out to enjoy the new sun

ill forgive and forget everything done

with the new summer, the new scorching heat

ill store away now forbidden memories of you and me

when the sun shines bright and warm on my skin

ill keep working, changing for the better from within

and in the fall, when leaves of next year fall to the ground

ill be the girl that will make someone proud

and next year, when the snowflakes dance their way down

ill be a new person, someone who doesn't frown

so with the new year, ill start anew

see how life can be without you
