But you open your expectant eyes -
And darkness remains.

Child so young so bold -
I wish to attach my hand to yours
Guide you through your stumbles

Boys will find their own way,
So find your guiding star -
If you falter, and ask for me; I'll not steer you wrong

Innocence fades, as stars do -
Pinpoints of brilliance;
And someday they all fall away as crumbling walls

Your questioning cries,
As you wonder where your dreams have run to
Waking to a false winter morning

I know why you cry;
When it doesn't seem right to awaken in the dark -

I know your pain. [comments] => 4 [counter] => 209 [topic] => 43 [informant] => anomalei [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 0 [ratings] => 0 [editpoem] => 1 [associated] => [topicname] => oops ) Your Poetry Dot Com - Morning Cries

Goodbye to night; sun may rise
But you open your expectant eyes -
And darkness remains.

Child so young so bold -
I wish to attach my hand to yours
Guide you through your stumbles

Boys will find their own way,
So find your guiding star -
If you falter, and ask for me; I'll not steer you wrong

Innocence fades, as stars do -
Pinpoints of brilliance;
And someday they all fall away as crumbling walls

Your questioning cries,
As you wonder where your dreams have run to
Waking to a false winter morning

I know why you cry;
When it doesn't seem right to awaken in the dark -

I know your pain.
