Picket fence, quiet neighborhood
Living the American Dream
I'm living in a Dream
It took a lot to get here
Gave up so much for this
Waking up everyday
Still tired and aching
From the one before
But I wash my face
And go to work everyday anyway

Today was a hard day
Tonight will be more so
Same situation every time
But I've got that Dream
Picket fence, quiet neighborhood
We gave up so much to get here
Falling apart everyday
Tired and aching
From the one before
Without asking why
But we wash our faces
And go to work

Cash my check and drive home
Picket fence, quiet neighborhood
Living the American Dream
I'm living in a Dream
Weary from a hard day
Same as the one before
But I get up everyday
Without asking why
Wash my face
And go to work [comments] => 11 [counter] => 341 [topic] => 21 [informant] => karoody [notes] => [ihome] => 0 [alanguage] => english [acomm] => 0 [haspoll] => 0 [pollID] => 0 [score] => 20 [ratings] => 4 [editpoem] => 0 [associated] => [topicname] => Lifepoems ) Your Poetry Dot Com - Dreams

I cash my check and drive home
Picket fence, quiet neighborhood
Living the American Dream
I'm living in a Dream
It took a lot to get here
Gave up so much for this
Waking up everyday
Still tired and aching
From the one before
But I wash my face
And go to work everyday anyway

Today was a hard day
Tonight will be more so
Same situation every time
But I've got that Dream
Picket fence, quiet neighborhood
We gave up so much to get here
Falling apart everyday
Tired and aching
From the one before
Without asking why
But we wash our faces
And go to work

Cash my check and drive home
Picket fence, quiet neighborhood
Living the American Dream
I'm living in a Dream
Weary from a hard day
Same as the one before
But I get up everyday
Without asking why
Wash my face
And go to work
