She wonders what it was about him that captivated her so.
God, that seemed so long ago.
Now she can’t even form coherent thoughts.
Everything feels numb.
Look how far she’s come—
From miserable to empty.
She can’t even be angry.

A raindrop trickles down onto the windowsill.
She wants her blood to spill,
Her life to end, and all this pain to go away.
She dreads Monday—
The next time she must see his face.
Oh, how she misses his embrace.
The way his arms would wrap around her waist and hold her tight,
All day and night.

A single tear rolls down her cheek.
She feels so weak.
Shaking the memory away, she presses down on the blade.
And smiles as her vision begins to fade…
