[hometext] => The poem says it all.
[bodytext] => Crinkled paper, pink champagne
Smiling faces despite the pain
The muffled voices linger softly
In coffee clouds and butter toffee
Boarding passes, a lipstick case
Toothpicks, gum, a can of mace
Business cards and candy hearts
A note ripped into tiny parts
I stupidly left my purse for you
Just to see what you would do
I leave today for far away
And I need to know if I should stay...
You're at the door my fickle friend
But I can't say goodbye again
My lonely heart's about to burst
In sugar fragments, lost and cursed.
My eyes, they sting... The doorbell rings
The smallest hope inside me sings
But I know better than to hope
'Cause dreams? Well, they're a slippery slope.
