Avoiding a lonely, empty bed
Our place no longer feels like home
Thoughts wont quiet in my head

I feel so lost without you
To lay here next to me
Doing the job you choose to do
Defending our country, keeping us free

Its selfish but I wish
You were here with me tonite
Instead of an ocean lying between us
That we could hold each other tight

Your fighting for what you believe in
And Im awaiting your return
Hoping and praying and wishing hard
That you'll come come soon, thats my concern

Sometimes the distance seems so large
And other times not so great
Still our love grows
Because its the seperation that we hate

No matter how hard things get
Or bleak some days may seem
We have our love to help us through
This deployment misery

So Im counting each day down
And holding on real tight
To memories and emails
Thats what gets me through the night

Pictures and Videos
Phone calls and letters
Moments captured in time
Help to make this better

And when Im in your arms again
Ill forget about these days
The ones where I cant sleep
Because I miss your smiling face

Thats what keeps me going
On a miserable night like this
The seperation is worth it
For every moment every kiss

I finally lay my head down
Smiling as I do

My nights are spent alone,
Avoiding a lonely, empty bed
Our place no longer feels like home
Thoughts wont quiet in my head

I feel so lost without you
To lay here next to me
